Michela was born in Parma, Italy in 1992. She obtained her Master’s degree in Pharmacy at the University of Parma in 2017. During her Master she worked in the research group of Prof. S. Rivara on the synthesis of small steroidal compounds aimed at acting as FGF ligand traps, endowed with promising antitumor activity. In 2017, she obtained an Erasmus Plus grant to work at the Leiden Institute of Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Codeé, on the synthesis of activity based probes for PslG. In July 2018, she joined the research group of Prof. Walvoort as a PhD-student to work on the generation of natural and novel oligosaccharides inspired by bacterial EPS.
